Yorgos Lanthimos Gets Behind the Lens of Vogue Greece

The award-winning director's latest project is “Sea”, an extensive summer fashion story set in Athens to be included in Vogue Greece's July issue.

Yorgos Lanthimos, the Greek film director, producer and screenwriter behind such critically acclaimed films as “The Favourite”, “The Lobster”, “The Killing of a Sacred Deer” and “Dogtooth,” is bringing his unique vision to a new project for Vogue Greece.

The July issue of the recently relaunched magazine will feature “Sea”, a 40-page summer fashion story set in Athens, conceived and shot by Lanthimos.

Stars of the story will be the internationally renowned models Aymeline Valade and Stella Lucia. It is a co-production of Vogue Greece, acrobaT Films and Superprime.

The production will not be Lanthimos’ first foray into the world of fashion; the director recently collaborated on a project with Gucci, shooting highly stylized images for a lookbook in support of Gucci’s Cruise 2020 show.

The July issue of Vogue Greece, featuring two different collectible covers and the story by Yorgos Lanthimos, will be first released on June 30, together with the Sunday newspaper edition of Kathimerini. It will subsequently be available as a standalone magazine at kiosks and newsagents throughout Greece and Cyprus.
