Radisson Blu Park Hotel: the ‘Natural’ Choice

The first urban nature hotel in Athens.

LOCATION

On one of the busiest avenues bordering the city center, right across from Pedio Areos park.

BACKGROUND

Park Hotel first opened its doors on this very spot in 1976 and for 35 years the neighboring Pedio Areos (Field of Mars) park has been instrumental in shaping the character of the hotel. During its renovation and consequent rebirth  after the hotel chain Radisson took over  the design team thought of paying tribute to the park by transferring it inside, so to speak.

In the lobby amidst modern leather sofas, pale tree-trunks serve as elegant pillars, while the canvas of scattered leaves on the ceiling gently alternates colors just like seasons do.

FEATURES

The hotel offers spacious rooms and suites with views to the city, the park or the Acropolis, all decorated with the concept of urban nature in mind. During the summer months, guests can make use of the rooftop swimming pool, a perfect place for recreation with amazing views of the city and the Parthenon.

The newly renovated meeting rooms, the theatrical Silver Forest and the futuristic Atlantis, along with the Greek Garden VIP room, guarantee a successful and memorable social or business event thanks to  the latest audiovisual technology and the dedication of the meetings and events staff.

STAND-OUTS

• Just a stone’s throw away from the National Archaeological Museum, which exhibits the biggest collection of antiquities from Prehistory to late Antiquity • Impressive views of the Acropolis from the St’Astra lounge restaurant and St’Astra Blue Roof Garden.

FOOD & DRINK

The Oak Room in the hotel’s lobby is an all day café where, among tree trunks and fallen leaves, guests and visitors can try a wide range of coffee beverages and tea, refreshments, liquors and desserts. The Gallo Nero restaurant on the ground floor is open from October to May and specializes in contemporary Greek cuisine.I It also operates as an all-day café throughout the year.

The St’Astra rooftop restaurant on the 8th floor serves unique views of the Acropolis, Lycabettus hill and the finely illuminated city along with sushi and international cuisine dishes. During the summer months, the St’Astra Blue Roof Garden takes over offering equally gorgeous vistas. Guests can relax and unwind, sip refreshing cocktails by the pool and savor modern Mediterranean cuisine dishes under the starlit sky.
