SantAnna: New Mykonos Club Features Europe’s Biggest Beachside Pool

The latest addition to Mykonos' world-famous beach club scene raises the already-high bar in terms of its facilities and the services it offers.

Lovers of vibrant beach-clubs have a stunning new addition to explore on Mykonos.

Described as a “multi-experiential beachfront retreat”, SantAnna is a brand new, multimillion euro beach club on Mykonos that seeks to offer experiences that go far beyond the trendy beach scene and nightlife the island is famous for.

Situated on Paraga Beach on the southern coast of the island, the luxury beach club opened its doors for the first time on July 5. The centerpiece of the complex is the enormous saltwater pool; covering 22,600 square-feet and filled with 222,000 gallons of water, it is Europe’s largest. The fully serviced poolside area covers 57,000 square feet, while the complex also features 28,000 square feet of beachside lounges and cabanas.

SantAnna is the brainchild of Dimitris Christoforidis, the entrepreneur behind the acclaimed Athenian farm-to-table Nice n Easy restaurant group, and his partner, chef Christos Athanasiadis.

“Mykonos is known the world over as a vibrant summer destination among jetsetters and discerning travelers, but we found a need to cater to a more diverse and inclusive clientele,” says Christoforidis. ”We want to offer an equally lively atmosphere but in a more laid back, chic environment, not only for revelers, but families, groups and single guests alike. SantAnna aims to redefine Mykonos as a destination beyond its posh party reputation.”

Building on the entrepreneur’s experience in the restaurant business, SantAnna features not one but two high-end beachfront restaurants in addition to multiple top-shelf bars, bespoke retail boutiques, customized spa services, a salon, gym, and 4,000 square-feet of subterranean guest facilities.

Guests can either relax at the poolside lounges or, at the higher end, reserve a ‘VIP Island‘ – floating areas of the pool that are coupled with tasteful underground cabins (literally underneath the pool) where guests can change, relax and enjoy spa treatments.

Entry is free to the complex although loungers must be rented. Prices start at 20 euros and rise to 500 euros for the VIP islands. A top line-up of internationally renowned DJs will keep the summer groove going, playing more chilled-out tracks in the morning and early afternoon and picking up tempo as the sun begins to drop. The live entertainment is curated by the New York based, award-winning broadcast journalist and DJ, Arthur Chi’en.

The company also offers a host of bespoke concierge services offering island tours, private transportation, helicopter services, private water taxis, golf carts, private security and any other requests guests may desire.

Additional amenities include free valet parking, a jetty for small motorboats, a gym with a personal trainer upon request, beach access and facilities for disabled guests, 24-hour security, free Wi-Fi and a dedicated SantAnna shuttle bus.
