The Archaeological Museum of Tegea is among the 49 nominees for the European Museum of the Year Award 2016.

The European Museum Forum announced that the Tegea Museum is among the 49 nominees for the European Museum of the Year Award 2016.

The Culture Ministry and the Arcadia Antiquities Ephorate said Friday that the Tegea Archaeological Museum in the Peloponnese has been nominated for the 2016 European Museum of the Year Award (EMYA).

Founded in 1907, the museum recently underwent extensive European Union-funded renovation works.
