Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center Enters Final Stretch

Construction nears completion on the building which will house the National Library and Opera

Just one month is left until the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center is completed, with construction crews in Kallithea working feverishly. The new National Library and National Opera are now taking their final form. At the National Library, the installation of curtain walls showed how the 22,000 sq m building will be bathed in light and will accommodate up to one million books.

The building is scheduled to be complete by March 31 2016, before the migration of the National Library and Opera begins. The Center will be ready to open to the public by the early summer of 2017.
