Ultramarathon Icon Dean Karnazes Appointed Ambassador of Greek Tourism

Greek-American endurance athlete and ultramarathon legend, Constantine "Dean" Karnazes, has been appointed as Greece's new Ambassador for Tourism.


Greek-American ultramarathon icon, Constantine “Dean” Karnazes, has just been appointed by the Greek Ministry of Tourism as the Ambassador of Greek Tourism.

A passionate advocate for sports tourism, physical wellness, and the Greek-Mediterranean diet, Karnazes is renowned for championing these values in Greece and abroad. His deep connection to Greece is evident, with his father hailing from the Peloponnese and his mother from the “longevity island” of Ikaria. “It is a tremendous honor to serve in this role, and I see a bright and vibrant future for Greece, which is the birthplace of the Olympics and the marathon,” Karnazes commented on his new role.

 

As a testament to the power of the human spirit and the limitless potential of the human body, Karnazes has inspired countless individuals worldwide. His extraordinary accomplishments, which include running 50 marathons in 50 US states in 50 consecutive days, showcase his mental fortitude, determination, and unwavering spirit.
