As direct flights from the US begin to arrive, the Greek government remains upbeat over the tourism outlook this year, despite the ongoing challenges.
Government spokesperson Yiannis Economou on Wednesday referred to the good prospects for this year’s tourism season in a post on Twitter.
“The first direct flight from the US arrived yesterday, earlier than any other year, at Athens International Airport, while the plan is for nine direct flights from the USA to Greece every day,” said Economou.
He went on to underline that “Greek tourism, with a plan, gets a vote of confidence this year also.”
