A Visit to the Hellenic Bicycle Museum

Showcasing renovated and perfectly maintained bicycles from Greece's past, the museum also organizes events in its scenic space.

In a private initiative, the Hellenic Bicycle Museum in Athens invites its visitors to take a breezy ride into the past.

Created by Arsenis and Thanasis Sinanoglou, the sons of Ioannis Sinanoglou (of Classic Cars & Bicycles), The Hellenic Bicycle Museum showcases pre and post-WWII city bikes, as well as racing and military bikes, folding models, children’s tricycles, some simple, some technically complex bikes, all masterfully restored and maintained in perfect condition.

The museum is located in Afidnes, just half an hour from the centre of Athens in an early 20th Century building that was once a warehouse of the OSE buses. It has been operating as a museum space since 2014.

The building’s stone walls and high wooden ceiling combine beautifully with the angular shapes of the old metal bicycles, creating an impressive and welcoming ambience that can also be used for personal and corporate events.

In wintertime the museum’s fireplace adds extra warmth to the vintage bike exhibition, while the scenic courtyard overlooking the train station and lush natural environment makes it the ideal space for outdoor events in the summer.
