Anthony Hopkins Goes Greek on Instagram

The renowned actor plays music from "Zorba" and promises an "out of the box" next gig to his Instagram followers.

During the quarantine, Anthony Hopkins’ Instagram account was one of the most entertaining to follow, as the actor turned his profile into a kind of quarantine diary on which he uploaded videos showing us, always with a slight look of… horror, how he spent his time at home.

There were a lot of things Hopkins had done in lockdown, however, dancing the Greek “sirtaki” was not one of them.

Until now. In a new video he posted on Instagram on July 20, he can be seen, among other things, dancing to the soundtrack of Mikis Theodorakis’ “Zorba.”

It transpires that after posting a video in which he was dancing the Cumbia a week earlier and receiving a slew of positive comments in his feed, Hopkins has decided to “travel” from Latin America to the Mediterranean, with one of the most famous Greek dances and songs.

“Astonished with the generous compliments on my Cumbia dancing. Thank you. ❤️ Here’s this week’s repertoire. Working on my next gig, thinking outside the box… #Greece #ZorbaTheGreek” writes the actor. Among those who commented was Michael Douglas, who wrote “Hope you’re having a great summer”. We reckon that as long as he keeps dancing, he will.
