Often, flights may be uncomfortable and exhausting – especially the long-haul ones. According to the director of International Air Transport Association, leisure travelers are driving a recovery in premium air travel, as a larger number of people opt to book Business and First Class seats for their travels. Within that context, there are airlines that make upgrades in the cabins of their aircrafts, as well as on the inflight services they provide, with the goal to make each flight comfortable.
Imagine arriving in Athens rested, pampered, and energized. Comfort is not just luxury, it’s a game-changer.

The Dubai-based airline Emirates is constantly making upgrades and provides significant benefits of interest to international travelers, including those traveling to and from Greece.

Flying between the Greek capital and Newark, New York, 546.712 passengers have traveled between the two cities on 2.597 flights during the period 2017-2021, and as indicated by the travel trends of this summer, American interest in holidays in Greece is only growing. With Emirates, these passengers can fly in both comfort and style. On May 1st, Emirates deployed its latest Boeing 777-300 ER aircraft fitted with aptly named “Game Changer” First Class suites on its Athens – New York route. Besides these seats (developed in cooperation with luxury automaker Mercedes-Benz), the airline provides Business Class seats with ergonomically designed headrests, and an interior inspired by modern sports cars.
It is worth noting that an impressive plan for updating the entire interior of the cabins in almost a third of all the aircraft in their entire fleet, enhancing comfort and luxury for passengers, is underway. The upgraded aircrafts will include 120 of the airline’s Airbus A380 and Boeing 777 aircraft, and will feature the new Premium Economy seats, refurbished First Class suites, and Business Class seats upgraded to a new style and design. The ambitious project, which represents a multi-billion-dollar investment, should be completed by April 2025, officially commenced in November. The plan is to completely retrofit four planes from start to finish every month continuously for more than two years. The new Premium Economy cabins will be introduced for the first time to a significant number of destinations.
Premium Economy, the company’s new cabin class, offers a more luxurious alternative to economy travel. Premium economy cabins, starting this month, debuted to five new cities with its newly retrofitted A380s while at the end of Emirates’ retrofit program, they will also become an option on 120 aircraft. What does it mean for travelers? The airline is promising that customers trading up from Economy to Premium Economy will be getting excellent value; Besides a dedicated check-in area at the Dubai International airport, once onboard the planes, passengers can look forward to beautiful and luxurious cabins similar to those in Business Class, with leather seats designed to provide optimal comfort with calf rests, footrests, and 6-way adjustable headrests.
