Experience sustainable gastronomy at the city’s first “Foodathlon”, organised by three new startups with the participation of 16 Athens restaurants.
Healthy living and sustainability go hand in hand. At least that’s the idea behind Sustainable Food Movement Greece, an organization aiming to promote sustainable gastronomy and limiting food waste in Greece. On November 4-11, the week leading up to the Athens Marathon, they will be hosting an event together with the tour company True Voyagers, health coaching program Healthyclub, and 16 Athens restaurants.
The city’s first Foodathlon will include of vegan cooking classes, running and biking tours of the city, a “foodography” workshop, wine tastings, special menu options at the participating restaurants, and more.
On the 11th, the day of the Athens Marathon, the events culminate in a special “recovery lunch” at Zonars, and a sustainable cocktail party in the evening, taking place at 7 Jokers and Barreldier, at Stoa Bolani near Syntagma Square.
The restaurants taking with special menu items are: 2mazi, Aiolou 68, By the Glass, Cupola, Dia Tauta, Ellevoro, Lime Bistro, Fouar, Melilotos, Nolan, Prosopa, Saigaros, Spit Jack, The Salty Pig, Vassilenas & Zonars.
