Summer on the Athenian Riviera has a rhythm all its own. Sunlight dances across the rocks of Vouliagmeni, and the sea breeze whispers through the pine trees. Here, in this secluded coastal enclave that feels more like an island retreat than a city suburb, time slows and life tastes sweeter.
Set against this backdrop of quiet luxury, Pelagos, the Michelin-starred restaurant at the Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel Athens, returns with something deeply personal: a “Best Of” menu that is less a retrospective and more a love letter to the land. Crafted by Chef Luca Piscazzi, the menu gathers stories from across the Greek landscape; memories in the form of dishes that were shaped during the restaurant’s Pelagos On Tour initiative.

Launched in 2021, Pelagos On Tour saw Piscazzi and his team venture beyond Athens, traveling to lesser-known corners of Greece in search of ingredients, encounters, and inspiration. In Crete, Santorini, and Sifnos, they met winemakers, shared tables with local families, and learned recipes passed down through generations. The result was a series of seasonal menus that paid homage to Greek tradition through the lens of haute cuisine.
Now, the highlights of that journey have been distilled into a single offering, a “Best Of” menu available through the end of September. Served in a space that evokes the elegance of a vintage ocean liner, complete with an expansive terrace overlooking the sea, the menu is offered as both a tasting and à la carte experience. It’s a celebration of brightness and seasonality: each dish is vivid, thoughtful, and deeply emotional.

“It’s a joy to relive our guests’ favorite moments from the past three years through these flavors,” says Piscazzi. “For me, it’s a map of memories – from the earthiness of Cretan mountain herbs to the volcanic minerality of Santorini’s produce. We’ve preserved the essence of traditional techniques while adding that signature Pelagos twist.”
This summer also marks the arrival of a new creative force: Wine Director Jan Konetzki. A four-time UK Sommelier of the Year and alum of Gordon Ramsay’s Michelin-starred London restaurants, Konetzki brings not just expertise but a storyteller’s sensibility to every pour.

After two decades at the top of his field, he took time to reconnect with life outside the glass, walking 500 miles along the Camino de Santiago, summiting a 5,000-meter peak in Georgia, and spending ten days in silence at a meditation retreat. That spirit of curiosity and contemplation now infuses his pairings at Pelagos: intuitive, unexpected, and grounded in discovery.
At Pelagos, summer is no longer just a season. It’s a story – told one course, one glass, and one shimmering wave at a time.
