Are you a Londoner and can’t wait for your holiday to get that Greek summer feel? Just head to Notting Hill.
For two weeks from June 7 until June 21, visitors to 89-71 Ledbury Road will find a pop-up store featuring some of the best new designs by up-and-coming Greek designers.
Unique handmade garments, dresses and shirts embroidered with traditional patterns, sophisticated swimsuits, refined leather sandals, luxurious silk scarves, jewellery made out of marble and clay will be showcased for two weeks in the space curated by MONOspace, a mobile fashion concept store founded by 32-year-olds Marina Bury-Christellou and Myrta Mitropoulou. This is the fifth such temporary store being opened by the group and will have an aesthetic inspired in part by “vintage, black and white photographs that recall the flair and nostalgia of another era.”

“The tiny alleys of Hydra, the old monastery of Patmos island, the rocky beaches of the island of Tinos, the medieval castle of Monemvasia, the Athenian rooftops overlooking the Acropolis have been MONO team’s inspiration for this new curation. MONOspace V will carry impeccable, always “made in Greece” pieces from up-and-coming as well as established Greek designers and brands that will unveil the ancient Greek goddess inside you,” the organizers write in a press release.
Whitelight Editions will be co-curating the space with an artful selection of printed photographs from contemporary Greek photographers.
MONOSpace was launched in 2015 and seeks to give a UK platform for hand-picked exclusive pieces created by emerging contemporary Greek designers and brands. Each pop-up store is designed to not only reflect a Greek aesthetic, but that of the neighborhood it temporarily inhabits.
