The Ministry of Culture and Sports will be celebrating the August full moon by offering free entrance to archaeological sites and museums around Greece.

On August 3 2020, 77 archaeological sites and museums participating in the celebrations will be extending their opening hours and 37 of them will also be hosting special events, including concerts, theater and dance performances, poetry readings, guided tours and even stargazing. One event – at Antirrio Fortress, is scheduled to take place ahead of the full moon on the 2nd of August.

This year’s celebrations will take place in accordance with the health protocols already implemented in every museum and archaeological site to prevent the spread of Covid-19, and in accordance with any additional government-mandated safety measures required at the time the events are held.
