BACKGROUND

Domotel Les Lazaristes used to be a tobacco warehouse before it was converted into a modern luxury 5-star hotel. The surrounding area, with cultural institutions like the National Theater of Northern Greece, the School of Fine Arts, the State Museum of Contemporary Art and the Moni Lazariston Cultural Center, from which the hotel takes its name, is a hub for the arts. The hotel, in turn, celebrates the arts by dedicating each of its floors to a different art form and naming its most prominent spaces after different Greek and foreign artists.

Each floor is named after a famous Greek or foreign representative of the particular art form which that floor has been dedicated to. The third floor, for example, is dedicated to cinema and so the suites are named after the famous Greek directors Michael Cacoyannis, Costa-Gavras, and Theo Angelopoulos.
