There’s nothing like a bit of history to go with your coffee, and Babylonia is no exception. The brainchild of two political refugees from Turkey who arrived in Thessaloniki 11 years ago, this self-styled multicultural center is housed in a building dating from the 1920s. Over the decades, it underwent many transformations before assuming its current guise as a very cool place to hang out. Starting from the 1970s, the building began hosting the city’s art and music scene, forming a connection that continues to this day. You’ll find the bar on the ground floor. With its deep crimson walls and funky music, this place certainly sets the scene for chilling out in style throughout the day to jazz, reggae, swing ska and much more.
