Which beaches should I choose on the island of “The Big Blue”?

If the idea of exploring the islets surrounding Amorgos appeals to you, then take the boat to Nikouria or Gramvousa. Alternatively, Amorgos itself has many gems to offer, such as Paradisia beach in the wild southern part of the island, or the unknown Agioi Saranta beach after Lefkes, in Katapola.

Because it is, without a doubt, one of the most beautiful island towns in the Cyclades. The brand new – just two years in operation – Amorgos Folk Museum (Tel. (+30) 6939.412.115) housed in the mansion of Theodoros Passaris, fighter in the 1821 Revolution, in Hora. Here you will experience the island’s ethnographic wealth through the local objects on display: farming and apiary utensils, large vases, apokrevata (traditional beds from Amorgos), traditional costumes, looms, hearths and wood ovens for baking rusks and baby goat.
